Dubai Arrival Airports

ORD handles more than 80 million passengers annually and, as of 2025–2026, is again the busiest U.S. airport by aircraft movements, driven by expanded schedules from United and American.
ORDNext is an $8.2‑billion Terminal Area Plan including two new satellite concourses (D and E) and a new O’Hare Global Terminal to replace the current Terminal 2, aiming to boost capacity and modernise the passenger experience.
Concourse D is a new 580,000–590,000‑square‑foot satellite concourse under construction southwest of existing Concourse C, with 19 flexible gates (narrow‑body or wide‑body), large lounge and retail areas, high ceilings and an orchard‑themed design; it’s expected to open in late 2028.
United is planning its largest‑ever summer schedule at ORD with around 750 daily flights and several new Midwest routes, while American is also increasing operations, putting pressure on the airport’s terminal and gate capacity.
The plan includes a new underground tunnel network linking the O’Hare Global Terminal with satellite Concourses D and E for passengers, staff and baggage flows, making airside connections easier once the full programme is complete.
